Profile

Ruth Kent is a sought after corporate wellness consultant, wellness coach, workshop facilitator, and mindfulness teacher. She provides one hour to whole-day workshops, retreats, classes and programs designed to educate, empower and energise in mindbody wellbeing. She founded Sunrise Well in 2014 to help people become mindfully aware of their health and wellbeing so that they can live and perform at their best. In her work she shares the latest evidence-based, woo-woo-free research in a fun and inspiring way.

With a lifelong passion for health and wellbeing and a natural curiosity of people and what makes them tick, Ruth first learned to meditate at the age of 15, at a time when meditation was far from the mainstream. This motivated her to dive in and learn more about her mind and herself, as well as get a better understanding of others and their unique health and wellbeing behaviours. Her curiosity and passion for wellbeing led her to study Psychology, a Post Graduate Diploma in International Public Health, 500+ hours of yoga teacher training, Level 3 wellness coaching, and a master’s in Biomedical Meditation Therapy and Allied Health. She brings this extensive training to her work, alongside her 25+years of personal meditation experience.

Ruth has consulted with and provided wellbeing workshops and coaching to many national and international organisations, including, but not limited to, Cochlear Ltd., Australian Ethical Investment, ANZ Bank, The University of Adelaide, Commonwealth Bank, and Cushman & Wakefield. She has also worked with some of Australia’s top celebrities and media brands to collaborate in memorable wellbeing-based campaigns and events.

Whether it is a full-day wellbeing retreat or an online lunch-and-learn, Ruth uses her extensive facilitation experience and her in-depth wellbeing and coaching knowledge to provide practical tips and guidance in a fun and easy to apply manner. She aims to always leave participants with plenty of tools to add to their own wellbeing toolkits. Ruth has also created a number of digital products in the form of an e-book, short courses, audios, guided meditations and wellbeing products as part of the Sunrise Well – Wellbeing Academy.

She lives in Brisbane and loves escaping to the coast on the weekends with her husband and her two loud and fun-loving kids.

Mindful Me

Mindfulness has moved from the fringe into the mainstream, but there are still some misunderstandings about exactly what mindfulness is and how it can benefit you. This workshop will help you to gain a better understanding of what mindfulness is, what the benefits are, how you can implement mindfulness in your daily life, and what mindfulness feels like in practice.

Mindfulness for emotional intelligence at work

The skill of emotional intelligence empowers teams and their leaders to perform at their best. Emotional intelligence can provide you with the extra skills needed to enhance relationships and improve your performance at work. Stress levels have been increasing steadily over the past couple of years and are showing no signs of slowing down. And while some amount of stress can be adaptive and help us to perform at our best, often our stress levels are overloaded and can lead to decreased motivation and productivity, a lack of focus, and physical issues like insomnia, anxiety, depression, and digestive complaints.

In this powerful and interactive workshop you will learn:

  • Effective strategies to recognise and manage stress in your life.
  • Lifestyle changes that you can implement quickly and easily to help you cope with stress.
